As much as I tell my parents that they need to keep my site updated regularly because all of my friends always look here for updates about me, my parents just never listen to me.
I’ve had a busy few weeks. I had my one year check-up. I am 31 inches long and 20.5 pounds. That puts me in the 95th percentile for height and the 40th for weight.
I went back and visited my grandparents in Iowa, and I had a great time at music classes with my Aunt Brady and my Grandma Keeton. After we got back we went to an ice skating party. I didn’t know what to think of the skates at first, but they ended up being a lot of fun.
I am walking all the time now. I don’t bother with crawling anymore. That’s just too slow and you can’t hold a cup and crawl at the same time. There’s too much to do to be stuck crawling around!

It looks like we have a little catching up to do. I was a little under the weather last week, so Dad didn’t get around to posting any of my pictures, but I’ve been busy.
We had my birthday party today. My grandparents, and my aunt came over and we opened presents and had cake. My first birthday cake. That was sure a lot of fun, but I don’t know if I wore more food than I ate.

I have to admit that I am getting kind of burned out on boring old baby food. I see mom and dad eating all sorts of fun food at the table and then they just give me spoonful after spoonful of green mush. I don’t think so. I’d much rather have what they are eating. So last night they gave me some chili. They were a little worried but I like the spicy food so far.

This week has been a huge adventure for me—my first trip out of the country. My parents took me to Costa Rica for their friends Mark and Donna’s wedding. Even though it can be hard to sit still in the airplane for hours at a time, I like to travel. Costa Rica is a fun place for a baby to be: it’s warm, the people are welcoming and all of the fresh fruit is really yummy. I had a great time playing on the beach and in the pool and I even got to sleep in a hammock.

These past days have been a whirlwind – I’ve been in Iowa, I travelled back to Denver. I surprised my parents by sleeping the whole way back. That’s my present to them – I think they liked it.

Wow, we really got a lot of snow last week. Good thing dad shoveled or else I would have gotten lost in one of those snow drifts. I got to stay inside and play with mom and dad for a few extra days this week because nobody was going anywhere with all the wind and the snow.
We are now in Iowa for Christmas, and gee, it was sure a crazy trip to get there after the blizzard. There were people all over the airport for me to say ‘hi’ to, so I was entertained, but mom and dad say it’s a miracle that they managed to make it to their flight on time.
I’ve had a great time seeing my grandparents, great grandparents and my aunt and uncle. They all gave me really fun books and toys for Christmas, and it’s so much fun to play with them that I’m thinking of staying up all night to hang out with them. This is fun!
