Food and Birthday Parties · Dec 10, 07:40 PM
I am starting to expand my food repetoire a lot now. The picture you see here is of me, the first time I had spaghetti. I didn’t quite know whether I was supposed to put it in my hair, my mouth, or feed it to Dora, so I do a little bit of everything, just for good measure.
I also celebrated Nana and Grandpa’s birthdays today. Opening presents is a lot of fun. Even though it’s not my birthday yet, they let me help.
The Holidays are Starting · Nov 28, 06:24 AM
I just had my first thanksgiving, and all of the food sure was good. I had some turkey and some mashed potatoes and yams and even part of a roll, but what was really fun was going on a walk afterwards. Between the seven of us, there were six dogs and we were a funny sight walking down the street.
The day after thanksgiving, we took the light rail downtown. It’s fun to ride in trains and wave hi to everyone. We went shopping and I got really hungry and so I ate a breakfast burrito. Yum. Eating solid foods are fun, especially when there is a dog around.
We also got our Christmas tree. I helped dad put it up. It’s sure neat to have a tree in the house!
Always Busy · Nov 20, 07:16 PM
There’s never a dull moment in the house when I am around. Maybe I’m chasing the dog around, maybe I’m climbing up the stairs, and maybe I’m opening the cabinets and dragging out the tupperware, or maybe I’m turning the front room into a garden. I’m full of surprises.
I went to the pediatrician on Friday and I am 29 inches tall and I weigh 18 pounds three ounces. That makes me 45th percentile for weight and 90th for height. I’m a good stair climber now. I think I’ll be a good volleyball player in a little bit.
Weekend in Iowa · Nov 15, 08:02 PM
This weekend my mom and I went back to Iowa to visit my family there. I didn’t let having a cold get me down—I played with everyone. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents and great grandparents, and I even took a nap on them, something that I do rarely…sleep on people, that is.
I also got to meet a new friend, Allison. My aunt Brady watches her, and we played a lot, too.
There were all sorts of fun toys to play with. My grandparents zoomed me around on a little race car. I think my grandma wants me to be the first girl to win the Nextel cup.
First the Dishwasher, then Denali! · Nov 5, 07:28 PM
I’ve gotten a new favorite pasttime: climbing. It started with the stairs. That gave me such a rush, such a sense of accomplishment, and I just haven’t been able to stop since. Now I have to climb everything I see.
I dressed up in my baby chick costume again for Halloween. We only had three trick-or-treaters, so I spent most of my time with Dora, waiting by the door in vain for children to show up in search of candy. Eventually Dad took me around to see all of our neighbors. That was fun. Everyone liked my costume.
Trick or Treat! · Oct 31, 05:43 AM
Happy Halloween, everybody. It’s been a busy week for me—I took some swimming lessons on Thursday with mom and dad. I love splashing around the pool and I was easily the youngest one there. Then my mom and nana took me to the library and I got to pick out some books and read them in the chair. I don’t know much about the black swiggly things but the pictures are fun to look at.
Then this weekend we went to ‘Boo at the Zoo’ and there were lots of other kids in costumes there, but everyone seemed to think my baby chick costume was pretty cute.
Look, it's a baby in a box! · Oct 22, 09:13 PM
I guess they don’t encorage people nowadays to think inside the box, but I rather like it. This box is as much fun as the musical toy set that came inside of it.
I have two teeth poking through my bottom gums now and I think that the top ones are not far behind. I have started to eat some more foods with my fingers now. I really like macaroni. I’ll shove as much of that in my mouth as I can. Mom and Dad can only put a little on my plate at a time now.
I’m getting closer to walking too. I can move from one piece of furniture to another now and I can grab things off of the floor while I hang on with one hand. One of these days I’ll be running around!
Weekend in Kearney · Oct 16, 07:17 PM
Last weekend, my parents drove me to Kearney to visit my Aunt, Uncle and Grandparents. We had a great time. The hotel had a pool so we went swimming. I splashed and splashed and giggled and giggled. It sure is fun to be in the water.
We also went to the park and my grandparents got to see how much fun I have on the swings. I love it when they push me and I go flying.
I am also really enjoying the fun finger foods I get now, everytime it’s a new fun surprise, whether it’s bananas, cereal, avocados, peas, or egg yolks. Finally, things that I am supposed to put in my mouth!
Shopping for pumpkins · Oct 8, 07:08 PM
It’s my first fall, can you believe that? The leaves are changing, the ground is getting covered with leaves, and all of a sudden there are these big orange things everywhere. They tell me they’re called ‘Pumpkins’. Whatever they are, they sure are fun to play with.
You know what else is fun? Eating cheese. Cheese is great fun. So are rice cakes, and pieces of fruit. Dora is my new best friend now.
You know what the best toys in the world are? Bows. My parents had no idea those bows people stick on boxes would be so fun to play with, but after I kept on crawling under the dresser to find them, they finally relented and let me play with them.
There are a lot of things in this big world that are fun!
